It is very disrespectful of a company to call a person in for an interview make them wait for an entire hour and then interview them for 5 minutes or less. Employers should be more considerate of the persons, (another Human Being/flesh and blood) coming in for an interview. Some people travel for 1-2 hours just in high hopes that they will get the job because most are in dire straits and desperate because they too have bills to pay. Some who are seeking employment have to go out of their way to work everything around everything and everyone else in their life just to get to the interview. Many are living without electricity, have no running water, have to take a cold showers because they have no heat. Some have not eaten in days because they are saving all their money for gas just so they can get to the interview in hopes they will get the job. Then there are those that are down to their last ray of hope that end up committing suicide because they have lost everything including the hope of getting the job. It is disgusting, deplorable, unethical, and wrong for an interviewer to chuckle as they say, “I/we know you are probably desperate and in need of a job just like all the others but, we still have a couple more interviews to do.” Blah, blah, blah is all that interviewee will hear from that point on due to the lack of respect and mock they have just received from the interviewer. The interviewee knows beyond a shadow of a doubt the interviewer does not care, does not have any consideration nor respect for them as a person/another fellow Human Being. I personally think that these companies should speak the truth with respect in regards to the one they are interviewing especially if they have just hired the person before them. The person being interviewed is not an idiot so, the interviewer should not treat them as such. The interviewee can tell when the interviewer is lying through their teeth. The interviewer should apologize for wasting the interviewees time and money to get to the interview and then be mature and honest enough to say, "We have found someone for the position but, we do truly thank you for your time that you took to prepare and come to this interview. We are sorry and wish you all the best." Do not patronize the interviewee.
Shame on every interviewer that treats the interviewee without consideration, dignity, and respect. That interviewer is a disgrace to the company they work for and to themselves. My opinion, of course.
